5 Women-Owned Businesses You Need to Know About

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we’re once again spotlighting our favorite women-owned businesses here in the Wylie area. We’ve been promoting these businesses all month long on social media, but we had to give them one last hoorah!
Women’s History Month started out as Women’s History Week, until 1987 when the National Women’s History Project petitioned for a full month of celebration. Their goal of the month was to celebrate the contributions women have made to the United States and recognize the specific achievements women have made over the course of American history in a variety of fields.
Here are 5 of our favorite women-owned businesses that we’re celebrating this month, and they’re all here in Wylie!
- Brightway Insurance, The Lunte Family Agency
Maegan Lunte is very active in the North Texas community and is constantly working to put her clients first. If you’re looking for an insurance partner who is dedicated and relentless at protecting her friends and clients, Maegan is your girl!

- Big Bass Towing
Mallory has known local businesswoman, Carla Binder all of her life and is in constant awe of the level of dedication has to business and family. Carla dominates what is primarily thought of as a male-oriented industry with grace, well-kept trucks and a well-oiled team of drivers and dispatchers. If your business is looking for reliable ways to transport your fleet, think of Big Bass Towing!
- Corn Dog with No Name
Vic and Jace “come from a long line of fried food connoisseurs, and while some of the items on our menu are inspired by old family recipes, we have taken traditional cuisines and given them a fresh, modern spin.” They have set up a chic, clean atmosphere reminiscent of fair nostalgia, and offer a variety of corn dogs, funnel cakes and drinks to satisfy any appetite. What’s even better? We love that Jace is a powerful, working mom that we can relate to!
