5 Women-Owned Businesses You Need to Know About
As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we’re once again spotlighting our favorite women-owned businesses here in the Wylie area. We’ve been promoting these businesses all month long on social media, but we had to give them one last hoorah!
Women’s History Month started out as Women’s History Week, until 1987 when the National Women’s History Project petitioned for a full month of celebration. Their goal of the month was to celebrate the contributions women have made to the United States and recognize the specific achievements women have made over the course of American history in a variety of fields.
Here are 5 of our favorite women-owned businesses that we’re celebrating this month, and they’re all here in Wylie!

The Bridal Shoppe is owned by two hard-working women: sisters Janet Smith and Miki Ortiz-Eggenberg. Janet is constantly thinking of ways to bring more life and business to downtown Wylie with new entertainment venues like The Loft and the Borough, a farmer’s market and outdoor live music hot-spot featuring local vendors.

Mallory has known local businesswoman, Carla Binder all of her life and is in constant awe of the level of dedication has to business and family.
